TRAIL TO TALE: Little Adventures in a BIG State

Everyone has a state they consider home. After a ten-year absence from my home state of Oregon, I found myself questioning how much I really knew about the land and the people I grew up with. I began pursuing “little adventures” upon my return hoping to better understand what lay beneath the surface of our shared history and values. Join me in an inspired exploration, both then and now, of a state I continue to discover.

Overcoming Apeness: Thoughts and Reflections on Cultural Influences.

Overcoming Apeness was initially written as a self-help guide for those willing to explore their own self-awareness. With social media addiction and greed being such a part our daily world, how can we find a potentially more fulfilling path? These writings, though not officially published, focus on real life examples about who we are versus expectations often placed upon us. Each chapter explores cultural truths that may block our true self-interests. Seeing our simian nature can help us better understand base impulses and how they impede our growth as human beings. Such growth must not only challenge societal norms, but the rationalism that serves them. Mostly written during the pandemic, I discuss concepts such as “point consciousness” versus “wave consciousness”, while colorizing personal stories with suggested exercises at the end of each chapter.

A 130-page piece printed for individuals interested in examining cultural and social influences on behavior, as well as advice for developing increased general awareness. I will have three copies available in the store section on this site.
