Food Adventures

One of the things I really enjoy about Portland are the food pod choices located throughout the city. What makes the food pods such an adventure, is how often I randomly come upon one in a suitably sized space, never knowing the variety of food types that will be available. My last trip, I purposefully returned to a food pod that I had passed a few months before while selling an old watch in a nearby store. It was Saint Burrito, a standard food cart that had recently been recognized for its quality. Predictably, I’d made a habit of showing up a few minutes before opening as popular places often drew lengthy lines soon after. I ordered their signature burrito dish and enjoyed an unexpected sunbreak among the closely packed tables and chairs. The wonderful taste of the burrito didn’t surprise me, rather, it was the two homemade hot sauces that made the experience so stellar. If you are going to open a food pod, it’s the sauces that will always keep the public coming back, and always make me anticipate my next trip.
